BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors assist the staff of the Parent Information Center by:

Defining the organization’s mission;

Establishing policy;

Ensuring that the programs and services offered by the agency relate to the mission;

Evaluating the agency’s operations;

Creating a financial climate which allows staff to fulfill the agency’s purpose;

Increasing public awareness about the agency;

Serving as a link to constituency groups;

Carrying out the functions of the board as specified in the by-laws.

Board members are required to sign a board service commitment pledge, code of ethics and conflict of interest statement. They are required to be members of PIC, and able to commit sufficient time to board and committee meetings. The board meets a minimum of six times per year. All board members are required to be involved in agency fundraising activities.
