HOW DO FAMILIES AND SCHOOLS FORM PARTNERSHIPS?
Developing partnerships is a process that involves three steps: Getting to know each other, Learning from each other, and Working together. As we develop relationships in everyday life we go through the same process. Look for opportunities to get to know each other. Ask questions about whatever you don’t understand. When parents and teachers know each other better, and have more common knowledge about what goes on in school they can then begin to participate in meaningful, powerful-shared decision-making.
