If you have questions, we have answers! If you need information or are trying to locate a program or service, we can help.
Research shows that children do better when parents are involved in their education. Unfortunately, parents don’t always know how to best do this. Do you have questions about helping your child to do better in school? Are you looking for information about parenting, discipline, children’s development, how to communicate better with other family members, or any other topic related to parenting? We can help. PIC helps parents and school personnel in forming positive educational partnerships. PIC provides parents with information, training, and resources on how to support their children’s learning experiences. In addition, PIC can connect you with existing support groups and programs in your community and around the state.
Discovering that you have a child with a disability who needs special education services can be difficult and confusing. If you have questions about the special education process, we can help. PIC has been providing information and training to parents and educators about special education for 25 years. We can help you to better understand the special education process, special education laws, terminology (acronyms and jargon used in special education), the I.E.P. process, and other topics related to getting special education services for a child with a disability. If you are looking for information about your child’s disability, a parent support group, an educational or recreational program, or other programs and services, we can refer you to the appropriate resources. If you are moving to another state, we can connect you with the parent center (like the Parent Information Center) in that state.
If you have questions about information you’ve been given, need support in making decisions, or need help in putting the information you’ve learned at one of our workshops into practice, we can help.
