Positive Behavioral Interventions
Using positive approaches to help children learn new behavioral skills is a best practice based on sound research. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires schools to consider the use of positive learning environments, supports, and strategies for children with disabilities who exhibit inappropriate or unacceptable behavior. Parents will learn the process for understanding and meeting the needs of children with behavioral needs, as well as ways to reinforce school-developed interventions at home.
