A Parents Involved In Education workshop offered to parents and schools throughout the State of New Hampshire for a fee.
This workshop looks at children’s experience of bullying in school and examines traditional assumptions, as well as providing tools and resources for assisting children who are the victims of bullying. It also provides an opportunity for parents and educators to discuss successful prevention and intervention methods. |
The following are the anticipated outcomes of the workshop:

Parents and educators will begin to recognize the various forms bullying takes on |

Parents and educators will understand the need to recognize clues that a child may be a victim of bullying |
|
Parents and educators will understand the importance of not allowing bullying in any form to be acceptable at school, at home and in the community |
|
Parents and educators will be aware of their school’s bullying policy |
|
Parents and educators will come to understand the myths about bullying and how it is important to recognize the ways we minimize it and do not take it seriously |
|
Parents and educators will have tools to deal with bullies and the victims of bullying, as well as tools for prevention of bullying |
|
Parents will understand the proper procedures for communication with the school in the event of a bullying issue arising |
|
Parents and educators will be introduced to the importance of teaching children media literacy skills in an effort to counter the effects of violence in the media |
|
Educators will be introduced to resources for violence prevention curriculum |
